The electric pedal is composed of pedals, telescopic mechanisms, motor components, controllers, control harnesses, magnetic control modules (optional) and installation accessories.
1. Motor
This is the brain of the entire pedal, controlling the normal operation of the pedal. Range Rover has developed an original electric pedal with a single motor, while China has developed a dual-motor pedal suitable for modification. Generally speaking, dual motors are more secure than single motors.
Single motor, that is, only one of the two rocker arms is directly driven by the motor and the other is a follower. The single motor system will increase resistance after long-term use, causing the pedals to be non-parallel, and the passive rocker arm has poor support.
Dual motor pedals will not have such problems. Even if one motor is broken, the pedal can still operate normally. Dual motor pedals have high requirements for motors. If the two motors are not synchronized, interference will occur.
2. Pedals
The pedals are generally made of aluminum alloy materials, and the minimum load-bearing capacity must reach 200KG. Basically, the load-bearing capacity of the pedals is above 300KG. The pedal surface is added with anti-slip particles and special layers to greatly improve the performance of the pedals and optimize the user experience.
3. Telescopic mechanism
The telescopic mechanism of the electric pedal mainly includes four-link and six-link.
4. Control system
Mainly includes OBD interface method for connecting to the car, wired magnetic control and wireless magnetic control. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
